Students will learn how to build a professional portfolio to display their accomplishments and achievements. This will help prepare them for future volunteer opportunities and job interviews. Portfolios will include extra curricular club and sport participation, volunteer and community engagement, special school awards and leadership opportunities for our students in the senior grades.
These are added to the regular school calendar to ensure our students have opportunities to enhance curriculum exploration, connect with the local community and engage with the world around them. Activities will be directed by the classroom teachers and based on current learning, interests of the students, community connections and seasonal pursuits. Students will be engaging in activities such as community gardens, volunteering at a food bank, city clean-up, assisting with the Christmas cheer program, outdoor recreation, connecting with seniors.
